To me, it totally depends on the guy. I mean, you could have 2 guys that have the same clothes, hair etc, and 1 guy look better. I personally dig the longer hair, no tight pants haha, a few tattoos/piercings, and a super cool attitude :)

If you feel like a poseur then you need to rethink your fashion agenda. Pick out clothes that YOU like and that YOU think are cool and comfortable and develop your own style ( You CAN mix and match stuff from hot topic with abercrombie stuff. No one will ever know). Trust me, you'll end up looking a lot cooler that a lot of other guys and chicks'll dig ya for it. Girls love a guy who loves his clothes and can rock them. You'll feel more confident in clothes that you think are awesome too.

As for emo, punk girls if you can pull off the hot pants please do, just not TOO tight. If you can't pull off the hot pants a pair of fitted not too loose not too tight pants are cool. Also rocking hair, a scarf(only if it's cold please), wristband and a cool tee with some classic chucks are pretty hot. And please no makeup for gods sake,
