There are ABSOLUTELY 'ton's o' Fantastic Girl Groups (or primarily female helmed) that absolutely rock out as hard, as sleazily, and as melodically as anything else out there worth listening to these days.
I'm a HOLE fan, but don't anything about Garbage. While many of the best bands listed below are skewed toward R&B, MoTown, Phil-Spector-style "Girl Groups" while others lean more toward Swamp and Memphis brewed Garage Rock, there are some more "pure punk" female acts out there; it's just that for the most part they just aren't as good or interesting: DEFINITELY CHECK THESE OUTS (Many Have 2+ CD's): - The Del-Gators - The Mystery Girls - The Fondas - Les Sexareenos - The Detroit Cobras - The Ettes - Ultra Babyfat - The Come-On's - Catfight - The Headcoatees - The Delmonas - Denise James - Amanda Jones - Holly Golightly - The Barbarellas - Mr. Airplane Man -------------------------- Next 2 are More Mainstream Pop-Punk - The Donnas - Sahara Hot Nights ENJOY! |
