Default Goth Girls?

What made you decide to use this image as an expression of yourself? What is your inspiration and how long do you see yourself portraying this image? Kudos to you for having the guts to be your own person!
Added: Lisa T. : I agree, its just a look. I love it and I want to understand the motivation, that's all.

my 14 year old daughter likes to dress sort of goth and I feel it is just an expression of herself. She is not emo, has a good after school job and is a nice kid. It is clothes! She could be out doing drugs or something.

I asked my daughter why she decided to dress this way and she said it was just something she liked, it was different and it stood out( but she doesn't want to be the complete center of attention, lol). She also likes to be different and doesn't want to be a "cookie cutter girl"

A lot of the goth girls my age can pull it off well. I have seen a lot of hideous goth girls, but once in awhile you find a really sexy, kinky looking Gothic girl.

I see alot of Goth girls on my job. I say go for it too. Most of them are young and just trying to find themselves,& they want to be different. Nothing wrong with that! Some pull it off better than others but no matter what your style you see that. I say hey while your young -have FUN!!!!

As a teenager I tried to look the part of a goth, along with a punk and grunge kid. Those were just phases for me, my attempt to look "cool" and find myself. As an adult I got over my attempts to look cool, and somehow found myself being a part of the gothic subculture. I personally love the Romanti-goth look, velvet and lace everywhere. But I have to look professional, so I mix and match that Romantic garb stuff with more corporate items. I've gone through my time in fashion purgatory, and now I'm portraying exactly who I am, and not who I want/wish I could be.
