A girl once told me that some emo kids said she had to turn anorexic to be respected as an emo or considered one... and she was just an average size 7, 16 year old.

no, that's total b.s. I just think that theres this air of mystery about them so people just make stuff up. It is lame how emo is one big cool-contest circle jerk when its supposed to be about the music.

Well the stereotypical emo is very thin. This idea could have generated from the fact that emos hate their life, so they don't do healthy practices.
